2009-2010 Cricket Draw
St Patrick’s College has a proud history of participation and on-field success in the sport of cricket. The College has produced three test cricketers, Leo O’Brien, Jack Hill and Adam Hollioake, as well as a number of past and present Melbourne Premier League cricketers.
This year, the First XI team has proudly produced two Under 15 Victorian Cricket representatives, Matthew Begbie and Nicholas O’Brien. Nicholas represents Australia in the West Indies in November this year.
In March 2008, the First XI won its second successive BAS premiership (its third title in the last five years) with a young squad made up of Year 9 and Year 10 students.
The First XI currently participates in a friendly exchange of matches with St Patrick’s College, Launceston each year in December and the result of this arrangement is a biannual tour to Tasmania that involves three cricket matches against teams from Launceston. Last year in the major fixture of this tour, the First XI regained the Br H.T. Breach Cup from St Patrick’s College, Launceston.
