Day In The Life

To ensure the smooth operation of the St Patrick's College Boarding community, boys are expected to respect and comply with a set of rules established by the Director of Boarding. This will ensure that students contribute fully whilst at school and in all other areas of boarding life.

 The following is an overview of the daily life of a St Patrick's College Boarder.

Weekdays
7:30-7:45 am                        Boys rise and shower
8:15 am                                 Boys to have completed breakfast and clean up
8:30 am                                 Boys leave for school. 
                                                Boarding House locked  until 3:30 pm.    

Normal School Day – Lunch provided in College Dining Room.
3:30 pm                                 Boarding House Opened
                                                Fruit available for afternoon tea

3:40 pm                                 Afternoon sport, music, study in House/Library 
                                                or free time

Note: Any student leaving the property during this time must have permission from the Housemaster and sign the Boarding register.

5:45 pm                                    Dinner in the College Dining Room

Monday to Thursday Evenings

6:30 pm                                    House Meeting – set study objectives for evening
6:40 pm                                    Commencement of Study for all Year levels
8:00 pm                                    Study Break
8:30 pm                                    Re-commencement of Study for all Year levels
9:00 pm                                    Year 10 students conclude study
9:30 pm                                    Year 11 and 12 students conclude study

Late study may be undertaken by Year 11 and 12 students upon consultation with Housemaster.

Lights Out
10: 45 pm                                 All Boys

Friday Evenings

Study is optional for all students. Students are involved in an organised activities programme using facilities at the College and in the local community. For example, ten pin bowling, cinema or basketball in the College gym. Students involved in heavy weekend sporting commitments may be encouraged to devote some time to study.

Lights out for all boys is at 11:30 pm.

Saturday

9:00 am                                    Boys rise and shower
10:00 am                                  Study session for all boys
11:30 am                                  Conclusion of study session

Note: Boys involved in Saturday morning sport or other approved activities will be expected to complete this study at some other time over the weekend.

12:30 pm                                  Lunch in the College Dining Room
1:30 pm                                    Free Time – sign out procedures must be

5:45 pm                                    Dinner in College Dining Room
7:00 pm                                    Mass
8:30 pm                                    Social Programme
11:30 pm                                  Lights Out

Sunday

11:00 am                                  Boys may sleep in and get breakfast at own leisure
12:30 pm                                  Lunch in the College Dining Room
1:30 pm                                    Free Time – sign out procedures must be
                                                   adhered to by all
boys.
5:45 pm                                    Dinner in College Dining Room
6:30 pm                                    Study for all boys
8:00 pm                                    Conclusion of Study/House Meeting
9:30 pm                                    Lights Out Year 10
10:00 pm                                  Lights Out Year 11 and 12
