From the Headmaster

Welcome to St Patrick’s College.

A quality school, a Ballarat school, a Catholic school, a boys’ school, a boarding school, an Edmund Rice school.

Since 1893, St Patrick's College has served the needs of young men and boys from the breadth of the socio-economic spectrum.

This is quite a mouthful for an opening statement but each of these facets helps define who we are and without any one of them we would not be true to the vision of our founding fathers. It might be said that St Patrick’s College is a human institution that succeeds through divine intervention, building on the work of those faith-filled forebears who have toiled to create a living tradition of excellence and joy.

We are blessed to enjoy the synergy of students and staff working with families, our clergy, old collegians and the Ballarat community in the continuing unfolding of a great story.

I hope that you enjoy reading about the College knowing that we respect individuality and applaud endeavour.

Welcome to St Patrick’s College, Ballarat’s best for boys!
