News around the Boarding Precinct

  • It was an early start on ANZAC Day for our Boarders, but such an enriching experience when we all attended the Dawn Service at the Sturt Street Cenotaph. Along with members of the Ballarat Community, our Boarders were privileged to be a part of such a moving and reflective occasion.

  • Twelve Boarders continued their ANZAC Day by volunteering their time at the ANZAC Day March and Ceremony held at 11am. Our Boarders acted as marshals for VIP’s invited to attend, while Alex Byham (11) performed in the Marching Band. Well done to all these Boarders who represented themselves and the College so well on the day.

  • As a treat for our Boarders, we recently attended a screening of the new Avengers movie. Once again, our Boarders represented the College impeccably at the cinema and all seemed to enjoy the movie -“ some even admitted to getting emotional during some of the scenes!!

  • A short week to the start of the term led into a very busy weekend which saw around 38 of our Boarders take to the football field for various local teams in and around Ballarat. We wish all of the Boarders well as they begin their seasons of winter sports.

  • It was fantastic to have some guests of our Junior Boarders join us for our annual, Bring A Friend to Boarding. Friends of our Boarders were treated to plenty of fun and games in the gym before joining the rest of the Boarding Community for a BBQ dinner. This was a wonderful opportunity for friends to see how SPC Boarding operates and allowed our Boarders to have a friend over after school!

  • Congratulations to the fifteen Boarders who were recently selected for the St Patrick’s College, BAS Athletics team. From shot put to 100m, from high jump to long jump, we wish our Boarders, along with the rest of the BAS Athletics team, all the best as they compete for glory at the Llanberris Athletics Track

  • We wish all of our Boarders representing the College in Rugby well as they look to their first game of the season this weekend. Boarding students are well represented across all age levels of Rugby and we are looking forward to hearing the results as they happen.

  • Congratulations to Flynn Grigg (12) and Damien Vincent (11), who recently performed for the VCE Theatre Studies production of -‘Love and Information’. We are extremely proud of these two Boarders and look forward to many more productions to come.

  • Congratulations to six of our current Boarders who recently took to the field for the SPC First XVIII Football side in their first BAS match for 2019. Along with the rest of the team, these Boarders dominated against Ballarat High School, contributing to a convincing first win. Well done to Bailey Nelson (12), Cooper Atchison (12), Kayne Councillor (12), Ben Howard (11), Pat Rae (11) and Flynn Atchison (11).

  • The term has started quickly for many of our Boarders who have participated in different events throughout the College. These include Outdoor Ed camps, Vet Sport and Rec activities, Science excursions and Theatre productions. This is a very busy term for many and we are extremely lucky that members of our Boarding Community are offered so many opportunities to participate in a wide variety of activities.
