Day 12 – London sightseeing

April 14, 2019

After a cracking breakfast in the beautiful Radisson Blu Vanderbilt, we all set off for Palm Sunday Mass at Westminster Cathedral. Funnily enough we bumped into the Loreto girls after Mass and exchanged travel stories. The boys then divided into groups and armed with maps and underground passes became serious sightseers in London. The Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, West Minister Cathedral, Nelson’s Tower at Trafalgar Square, Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus, Harrods, Camden Markets are just a few of the destinations and tourist attractions conquered today. The British economy is booming because of the shopping expedition undertaken by our boys. Nearly all boys are sporting new -kicks- and washing is a thing of the past as they replace dirty clothes with new clothes. The boys are to be commended on their behaviour, street smarts and fashion sense. We have been entertained with the ongoing discussions about what matches, what’s in and that what was once described as a pink top is now definitely -salmon-.

Prior to dinner we topped off our day with a ride on the London Eye. The boys were amazed at the density and size of Greater London. A two-course dinner at the Red Lion Pub in Westminster rounded off the perfect day -“ perfect weather and perfect company.-
