Author /Illustrator Talk

Earlier this term our very own Classroom Assistant Karla Strambini talked about her picture book, The Extraordinary Mr Qwerty. We learnt about the different stages of production and some of the challenges in working with editors, graphic designers and international publishing houses. Karla gave two presentations, one to our students and the other to our local school library network. Both were very well received.

New directions

In my last Crest article as Director of the Kelty Resource Centre, I’d like to thank the KRC Team for their humour, creativity and hard work. From our early arrivals at 8.00 until the last students working at 5.00, the KRC Team support our students’ various learning needs. With the Team’s knowledge of Young Adult fiction and the rules of many games like Uno, they also support the recreational needs of the College community. I am pleased to leave the KRC in the capable hands of Leonie Darken who takes up the position of Director of Library and Information Services next year.

We wish you a wonderful holiday.

Happy reading!
