  • Old Collegian Andrew Jirik (SPC 1980-85) shares news of the Ballarat’s Catholic Diocese’s plans to donate $300,000 to the Centre Against Sexual Assault (CASA) to help the service work with abuse survivors across the city in this recent news story.   • Old Boy Jono Willey (SPC 2006-11) shares his experience first hand of the debilitating and frightening impact of concussion following an on-field incident while playing football for Rokewood-Corindhap in the Central Highlands Football League in recent weeks. To read more, go to this link

  • Marty Bauska (SPC 1989-94) was one of the volunteers from various Ballarat organisations to present a banquet and raise money to help the hungry as part of Volunteers Week. To read more, go to this link

  • Michael Clark (SPC 2002-07) shares the impact of the debilitating neuromuscular degenerative disease Friedrich Ataxia has on his body in this story at this link

  • We also congratulate Daniel Rioli (SPC 2012-15) who has helped design Richmond’s jumper for the annual Dreamtime at the G match against Essendon this weekend.   • Good luck to Lake View Hotel Group director and Old Boy Nathan Tracy (SPC 1991-94), who is involved in the refurbishment of notable The North Star Hotel in Lydiard St Nth, formerly known as Seymours on Lydiard.The major overhaul of the pub aims to create a -Melbourne-inspired layout- with builder Resicare (who built the College’s new boarding precinct) on board.   • In great news, Old Boy Matt Short (SPC 2008-13) has been recontracted by Cricket Victoria for next summer after emerging as a big improver as a batting all-rounder for Victoria in 2018-19. To read more, go to this link

  • The sad passing of Old Collegian and former soldier and firefighter Nathan Shanahan (SPC 1988-93) has led a Victorian Coroner to call for action on preventing soldier suicides.   • Old Boy Liam Haintz (SPC 2011-16) made his first start for the season for Ballarat in the Reds’ home clash in Football Victoria’s men’s state league five west competition. To read more, go to this link

  • Well done to St Patrick’s College and Ballarat City Rowing Club coach and Old Collegian Brendan Scott (SPC 1983-88), who was named at the helm of the Under 18 Victorian Pathway Eight to lead a team against some of the best young rowers in the nation. To read more, go to this link

  • We recently chatted with Jacob Lohmann (SPC 2016-18) who is currently studying Sports Management and Business at Federation University, as well as playing footy at Lake Wendouree and is also on the North VFL Development list. Jacob is also working at the new Drive Café in Golden Point, owned by fellow Old Collegian Marlin Staley (SPC 2013-18) and his family. Jacob says he catches up with- his Paddy mates regularly!
