Where are they now – Jack Lewis (SPC 2010-15)

September 4, 2018

The College recently reconnected with Jack Lewis (SPC 2010-15) who fondly remembers his time at SPC and the lessons that he learnt.

Where has life taken you since leaving SPC?

I am currently working at Coles supermarket and studying a degree in business management.

What are your fondest memories of your time at St Patrick’s College?

My fondest memory was participating in youth ministry in Year 11/12 with Mr Michael Toohey.

Which teacher from your time at SPC had the greatest impact on you? Why?

I would have to say there were a few teachers, including Mr Howard Clark, Mr Michael Toohey and Mr Leigh McKee. The reason why I picked these three teachers is due to the fact that they didn’t see me as some kid that was part of their everyday lessons, but they treated me as an equal.

How has your education shaped your professional life?

Well it wasn’t really what I learnt in my lessons, but the standards that the teachers there set for me, including, wearing the College tie and correct uniform and the way to be a man.

How has your time at SPC shaped your personal values and your family life?

It has taught me how to treat others and to hold others with great respect.-

If you could pass on one message to the students of today, what would it be?

The message that I would pass on to the students of today would be that- I understand that school may not be the place you want to be at right now, but love it, embrace it every day, for these walls that you are in hold great lessons if you wait and listen.-
