Ric Marsella (SPC 1954-57, PY1958)

We are saddened at the passing of Old Collegian Riccardo (Ric) Marsella (SPC 1954-57, PY1958) on 9 April 2025.

Ric was a boarder from Mornington. He commenced studies at SPC in Second Year through to his Leaving Year.

He commenced surveying studies in 1958 and became a respected practicing surveyor for an impressive 65 years on Melbourne’s Mornington Peninsula.

Ric was a supporter and donor of the College. During his time as a student, Ric enjoyed all that the College had to offer. He was recognised for reaching Second Grade in Music in 1954. He was named third in scholastic prizes for his Intermediate B class and also received a junior government scholarship in the same year.

He was a handy athlete in the sprints and broad jump, enjoyed the cadet program and played in the Second XI cricket team.

Ric was the only son of Cosimo and Phyllis Marsella (both dec) of Mornington. He was husband to Helen (dec) and brother of Claudia, Iolanda and Derinda.

A memorial was held for Ric at the Royal Hotel in Mornington on 24 April.
