We were notified by family of the passing of Old Collegian Patrick John Roache (SPC 1945-46, PY1948) on 11 September 2024. His daughter Andrea recalled that SPC was remembered and retold fondly over the years by her father, particularly the sport, going to the pictures and the friendships made with other students.
Patrick was a boarder from the family farm at Nalangil, near Colac in western Victoria. He attended SPC with his three brothers, Jack, Dan and William.
Patrick was a member of Nunan’s Senior Shed football team and Platoon No.4. After his time at St Pat’s, Patrick returned to the family farm, where he raised four children with his wife Helen until retiring into nearby Colac, in western Victoria.
