We are proud to see the legacy of Old Collegian Callum Smail (SPC 2013-17, PY 2018) honoured through the establishment of a scholarship at Longerenong College supporting young people pursuing a future in agriculture.
Callum’s passion for farming and commitment to his community left a lasting impact, and this scholarship will help inspire and support the next generation to follow in his footsteps.
Callum tragically passed away in a motorbike crash near Broken Hill on 13 April 2026.
We extend our deepest condolences to Callum’s family, including his parents Jamie and Bec, siblings Flynn (SPC 2019-23, PY2024), Hamish (SPC 2015-2020) and Macala, and fiancé Brittany.
Callum’s funeral was held on 27 April at the Ballarat North Sports Centre.
Callum was a day student, who completed his Year 7 – 11 studies at SPC and took part in various school activities including clay target shooting and racquetball.
