Dan Watson (SPC 1974-79)

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Daniel (Dan) Watson (SPC 1974-79) on 7 September 2025. His Requiem Mass and burial took place in County Cork Ireland on Saturday 13 September 2025.

Dan Watson.

Dan was a day student along with his brother Anthony (Tony) (SPC 1972-77) and Peter. Dan arrived at SPC in Form 1 and completed his Form 6 studies. He received various academic prizes, including Academic Prizes for Accounting and Commercial and Legal Studies in his final year. He also enjoyed sport, and was actively involved in various sports, including tennis, soccer and badminton. He was co-captain of the Under 16 Badminton team alongside Michael Drohan in 1977.

It came as no surprise that after leaving SPC and following tertiary study at BCAE (now Federation University, Ballarat), Dan pursued a career in accounting, building up a successful practice in Bacchus Marsh.

He was a keen traveller, both within Australia and overseas, and on his retirement Dan moved to Ireland, where he was to meet his partner Olivia. He was also a loving father to Nicole and Sheree (dec). We extend our deepest condolences to Dan’s extended family at this time.
