With the coveted Head of the Lake only days away, one of our Old Boys Ian Johnson (SPC 1979-81) recalled some of his own memories during his visit to the College on Wednesday afternoon. Ian was part of SPC’s First Crew in the 1981 Head of the Lake, which was pipped at the post by College, Grammar claiming third place.

The race was rowed in the fast time of 5 min 13 sec, despite the extremely rough conditions. Ian, like everyone in the SPC community, will be cheering on our green, white and blue teams this Sunday!

Since donning the green, white and blue, Ian has been a farmer, worked in disability care and for the past three years, has been driving milk tankers in the Camperdown district.
