The 2015 St Patrick’s College Old Collegians’ Assocation annual golf day has again been haield a success after a solid field enjoyed the event on Sunday, November 8 at the Midlands Golf Club.

Spectacular conditions greeted the field and provided ideal weather for excellent scoring.

Once again competitors were treated to a fine breakfast and lunch, as well as enjoying a golf course in terrific condition.

The four-man ambrose event ensured all teams recorded strong scores, with a particularly tight finish at the top of the field.

They were followed in second place by the team of Stewart Hynes, Damian Gleeson, John Noone and Damien Godfrey who posted a nett 58. In third, on countback, was the team of Paul Speechley, Paul Bozic, Michael Ryan and Ben West.

Other prizes were awarded on the day for nearest the pins on par 3s, and straightest and longest drives.

Event organiser and OCA vice president Chris Torpy thanked all players for their participation and noted that the event was only successful due to the ongoing support of corporate sponsors.

“The whole aim of the OCA Golf Day is to bring Old Collegians together for a day of great fun and reliving memories of their time at the College,” Mr Torpy said.

“While the aim is not necessarily to raise money, the event does need the support of corporate sponsors to ensure its feasibility.

“We are really hoping to make the day even bigger and better in 2016 and encourage everyone to start planning their team now.”
