An Old Boy’s memories of snow at SPC

December 2, 2019

We recently chatted with Tom Murphy (SPC 1951-55, PY1959) who was a boarder at SPC in the 1950s. Tom was only 10 when he arrived in Ballarat in 1951 from the Balranald bush in NSW. It was in Ballarat that he saw snow for the first time, “three inches deep”, while studying at St Patrick’s. We found some excerpts of the reported snow from the College Annuals while Tom was a student, please scroll down to read.
