December 3, 2019

Congratulations to Old Collegian Kyle Foley (SPC 2002-07) who helped deliver his newborn daughter at home recently.

Baby Sloane Mae Foley, daughter of Old Collegian Kyle Foley and his wife Kirsty.

Newborn Sloane with her besotted big sister, two-year-old Maxwell.

Kyle and his wife Kirsty got as far as the car in late October when Kirsty went into labour and they realised they would not make it to the hospital in time.

They were forced to rush back inside their Geelong home, call triple-0 and frantically prepare for the imminent arrival of their second child.

Twenty-five minutes later, and baby daughter Sloane May, was born.

Kyle kindly shares their amazing story with us.

“Our second daughter’s arrival certainly happened earlier in the day than Kirsty and I anticipated.

“We were about to make our way into hospital at around 11am, however we got as far as the car door before turning around to come back inside.

“I dialled 000 at 11.10am and had the paramedics on loud speaker who helped guide us through the birth as best as they could.

“Sloane Mae Foley was born at 11.35am on October 23, 2019, one day before my 30th birthday and three days before her older sister Maxwell’s second birthday, a busy week indeed.

“We spent 15 minutes at home with our new daughter before the ambulance arrived, something we will never forget.

“Weighing in at 3710 grams and 52cm long, we are very fortunate and thankful all went smoothly.”

Congratulations to Kyle and Kirsty and big sister Maxwell on the safe and speedy arrival of baby Sloane!
