Subject changes

By now all students should have settled into their classes for 2015. Changes to subjects will cease after Wednesday February 10 so students who may be looking to alter their program must do so ASAP. – The form for request of subject change can be collected and returned to the ERC. Please note that these must be signed by parents/guardians.

Immunistaions

In 2016 only Year 7s are to receive vaccinations. Parents of older children may be aware that in previous years vaccinations were given to students in years 7 to 10. However, the vaccine program for secondary students has been simplified this year so that all vaccines will only be offered to Year 7 students. This includes:

-¢- – – – – – – – – – Diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis combined vaccine (dTp) -“ one dose

-¢- – – – – – – – – – Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine -“ three doses

-¢- – – – – – – – – – Varicella (chicken pox) vaccine -“ one dose

Parents of year 7 students will receive the vaccine consent card booklet that will be sent home this week with your son. You need to read, complete and return Part A regardless of whether your child is being vaccinated at school.

The City of Ballarat immunisation service may contact you about the Secondary School Vaccine Program. Schools are authorised to provide parent/guardian contact details to local councils for this purpose. Contact St Patrick’s College by 29 February 2016 if you do not want your contact details given to the City of Ballarat.
