News around the Boarding Precinct

• On Sunday October 20 we celebrated our annual Year 12 Boarders’ Mass and Dinner. This evening is always a special occasion as it allows us as a Community to come together and celebrate Year 12 Boarders success’ as they head into their final few weeks. This evening also serves as an opportunity for our new Boarding Student Leaders to address our community as they now take over all leadership responsibilities heading in 2020. A special thanks must go to Geoff Brodie and his Mission Team for organising the Mass and our Guest Speakers Andrew Schuyler and David Latianara for sharing their words of wisdom to our Boarders.
• Our Year 12 Boarders commenced their exams last Thursday. Whilst there were many with nerves going into their exam they all returned to the Boarding Precinct with smiles and a sense of relief. We wish them all the best over the next few weeks.
• A special Congratulations must go to Alex Kinsmen who has been representing the College at the Victoria Cycling Winter Series. The final was held in Bendigo on October 19 where Alex finished 2^nd in class and took the overall leaders jersey in the Under 19’s.
• This weekend we have our Term 4 EXEAT weekend that goes through until Tuesday November 5. We wish all our Boarders and their families a safe and happy long weekend together.
• This week the College has hosted a group of eight boys and two staff from St John’s Chandigarh, India. The boys have joined us in Boarding for the week whilst they experience all the that St Pat’s has to offer as well as many day trips to Melbourne, The Great Ocean Road and The Grampians. Our boarders have loved getting to know them, their culture and lifestyle. They depart this Saturday and make the long journey home.
