Former boarder and avid cyclist Brendan Kelly (SPC 1960-62) is enjoying some of the best sights while clocking up the kilometres on bike tracks and rail trails around Australia and even overseas.

Brendan recently travelled from his home in East Ballina in NSW to WA to take part in a six-day cycling adventure on the Munda Biddi Trail, from Walpole to Albany, which he was looking forward to after it had been postponed from April last year.

Brendan also made the most of the opportunity to sample some of Victoria’s great delights, taking in the coastal views on The Great Ocean Road Cycle and some of the rail trails in western and central Victoria earlier this year, during two six day cycling tours, while visiting family across the state.

Brendan said he continues to maintain an active lifestyle with regular cycle activity with the Northern Rivers Bushwalking Club. Over the years, annual overseas adventure travel has involved hiking, cycling and swimming with his last trip to Mongolia in 2019 where he cycled through Central Mongolia across 15 days in a small organised adventure group.

Brendan enjoys the organised cycling group trips and has more trips planned for the rest of the year.

Brendan shares his travel posts on his Facebook page, which you can find here

Meanwhile, Old Collegian Bob Dixon (SPC 1958-68) took part in the recent Murray-to-Moyne Cycle Relay as a member of the ACU team riding from Echuca to Port Fairy.

Bob rode about 170km in the fundraising relay and with the help of his family, friends and colleagues, he raised $3100 for Ovarian Cancer Australia. Well done Bob!
