Caring for the SPC community

August 22, 2018

During these cold, wintery months, volunteers involved in the College’s OCA Pastoral Care Program have been busy making home-cooked meals for some of our Old Boys in need.

Year 9 students have also been making meals for our Old Collegians as part of the College’s new Community Service Program.

These recent sentiments below show how much our Old Boys have appreciated our assistance.

-I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and help. The food is absolutely delicious and so much appreciated. Please pass on to the cooks!-

-I meant to tell you how much of a godsend the meals have been especially in this hideous weather! Thank you so much.-

-I would appreciate more meals, they save me a lot of expense and effort, not to mention the -‘cooking for one’ factor, that is so depressing-.

The OCA Pastoral Care Program aims to provide practical, hands-on support and assistance to our Old Collegians at a time when they may be battling serious illness, injury, a tragic event or are struggling for some other genuine reason.

Volunteers are able to help by making home-cooked meals, mow lawns, assist with gardening, animals, carry out professional tradesman or handyman jobs, provide professional business services, free business consultations or job-related mentoring. Our volunteers can also help with providing transport to appointments and make a visit or phone call to help brighten someone’s day.
