DAV Junior Secondary Program

This year our Year 7 and Year 8 debating teams are competing in the Junior Secondary Program online through Microsoft teams. The students are competing against schools from across the state and have done the College proud so far having only competed in Round 1. There will be two more rounds of debating and finals, we wish the boys the best of luck for their upcoming debates.

DAV Schools Program

Our senior debating team made up of Jeremy Spedding, Patrick Clarke-Thomas, Sam Tilley and Darcy Williams were very successful in their general competition rounds finishing on top the ladder. They competed in an Octo final on Sunday, August 30 and were knocked out of the finals series but should be extremely proud of their efforts. A huge thank you to their coaches Nathaniel Winfield and Sarah Sharp in supporting the boys.

Purton Oratory Competition Commemorative Speech

Unfortunately, this year’s Purton Oratory Competition as we know it will not run. However, we still want to give public speakers at SPC the chance to share their voice with the SPC community. Please see the poster below for more information.

Speeches will be made available to the school community.  Those interested in submitting their video recording of their speech are to please email Ms. Allen: to be added to the Google Classroom. Speeches are due by Sunday, September 6. When recording your speech please ensure: you are in full school uniform with groomed hair, film in your living room (not bedroom), against a plain background, good lighting and good clear sound.”
