2019 Director of Studies Mrs Julia Petrov is preparing for next year’s curriculum and sent this letter to- current Year 12 students this week:
Dear Year 12 student,
Next year I will be taking up the role of Director of Studies and part of the new role involves the establishment of a Year 12 Study Centre. In light of this I am writing to inform you about an exciting casual employment opportunity in 2019.-
St Patrick’s College is converting the College Dining room into a Year 12 Study Centre where all Year 12s will do their study sessions. We will be employing a number of -Old Boys- from the Class of 2018, who have achieved excellent results in their VCE or VET subjects, as Study Centre tutors. Tutors will have one or more specialist areas and will work with individuals/pairs of students as directed by the Study Centre Coordinator.
We would require several tutors each day from 9.00am-3.30pm or part thereof, with an anticipated pay rate of $24 per hour. This may be an excellent opportunity to access casual work while completing tertiary studies.
Some of the duties as a tutor would be:

Working with students on gaps in their learning.

Helping students revise work using past papers or quizzes (timed).

Assisting students to structure their study time.

Supporting students to complete task/s assigned by their teacher.
