Dr Frank Nolan.

We were notified of the passing of Old Collegian Dr Frank Nolan (SPC 1942-51) on 7 April 2023 and we extend our condolences to his extended family including son Paul (SPC 1978-83) and grandsons Jacob (SPC 2013-18) and Rory (current student).

Frank will be remembered as the acting head of the Australian Catholic University in Ballarat at one time and was married to Nola (dec).
Frank began his schooling at SPC in the junior grades in 1942. He was a day student and a talented young scholar, regularly claiming the class leader and class dux titles during his time at SPC. He received scholarships for his academic and singing prowess and he was a keen member of the Alliance Francaise de Victoria, winning numerous awards and commended in the 1950 College Annual for his rendition of “Expiation” was according to the examiners, “presque parfait”.
Frank was also an active member of the athletics and cricket teams.

Frank enjoyed playing cricket and was a member of the Galvin Senior Park cricket team, as published in the 1950 College Annual.
