November 6, 2020

We warmly invite you to read an announcement below from Wayne Tinsey, Executive Director of Edmund Rice Education Australia regarding Acting Principal Mr Stephen Hill:

Acting Principal Mr Stephen Hill.

November 6, 2020

Dear St Patrick’s College Community,
I am pleased to share with you the recent announcement made on behalf of Tasmanian Archbishop Julian Porteous, of the appointment of Stephen Hill as Acting Principal of MacKillop Catholic College, Hobart. Stephen will take leave from St Patrick’s to carry out this new appointment from January 2021 to 18 July 2021.
I take this opportunity to thank Stephen for his commitment to St Patrick’s over the past 13 years where he has held various senior leadership roles, including Deputy Principal and Acting Principal. I particularly acknowledge and thank Stephen for his leadership this year after John Crowley was appointed to the role of Acting Principal at St Kevin’s College. During his time at St Patrick’s, Stephen has served the College community with distinction.
I acknowledge the immense care and concern in how Stephen has worked assiduously and collaboratively with the College Leadership Team this year to lead the community in what has been a challenging time with the coronavirus pandemic.
Stephen will bring to Mackillop Catholic College exemplary leadership qualities including a diverse range of leadership and management skills, knowledge and expertise forged during a distinguished career committed to secondary Catholic education over thirty-six years.
While Stephen will be on leave to take up this new role I acknowledge and thank Elizabeth Ryan who will continue in the role of Deputy Principal in 2021, ably assisted by Julia Petrov as Director of Teaching and Learning and Michael Silcock as Director of Students. Elizabeth will be a great support when Steven O’Connor commences his appointment as the new Principal of St Patrick’s College next year.
Please join me in congratulating Stephen Hill on his appointment.

With my best wishes

Wayne Tinsey
