Headmaster’s Message – June 11, 2015

June 10, 2015

Last week, one of our current Year 12 students, Patrick Collier, travelled down to Melbourne to receive a VCE Premier’s Award for his perfect score of 50 in Further Mathematics last year.

The award was presented by the Deputy Premier of Victoria and current Education Minister the Hon James Merlino. Of particular note here is that Patrick received one of only 16 awards presented which is a remarkable achievement, reflecting an incredible level of dedication, perseverance and hard work towards his studies. I would also like to acknowledge the hard work of Patrick’s Further Mathematics teacher, Mr Barry Schuurs, who would also be absolutely thrilled with Patrick’s result. Barry was able to attend the award ceremony with Patrick and his family which is fantastic.

The long and much anticipated wait for the opening of the 2015 Production, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat has nearly arrived, with opening night next Wednesday, June 17. Having attended many practices over the past two terms, I assure everyone it will be a fabulous show. The acting, singing, costumes and sets are just some of the highlights that audiences will enjoy. This year, we again have many boys involved which is wonderful to see. Tickets are still on sale on the Loreto College website, however, they are selling fast so don’t miss out!

Have a great weekend
