Headmaster’s Message – October 22, 2015

October 21, 2015

On Wednesday I had the privilege of attending the final day activities for our Year 12 students. This involved, amongst other things, an early morning BBQ, followed by a spirited soccer match, some formal classes, lunch, a year level assembly and, finally, a beautiful mass and supper at St Patrick’s Cathedral. I have been incredibly impressed and proud at the way each student participated in the final day celebrations, as well as the way they have led the College throughout 2015.

It is a credit to each boy and their family that we can spend the day celebrating their many and varied achievements, without worrying about poor behaviour and disruption. I would like to take the opportunity, on behalf of the St Patrick’s College community, and in particular our staff, to wish every Year 12 student well for their upcoming exams. We pray together that you continue to be blessed in your preparation with the gifts of perseverance, dedication and insight. We ask God to walk with each of you over the coming weeks, and into the future, and fill you with an inner strength and confidence.

I would also like to acknowledge our dedicated teaching and ancillary staff who have inspired our Year 12 students, not just in their final years of schooling, but throughout their entire secondary journey. Your guidance and support has helped in no small part to shape the impressive young men we see today.

And so-¦.. after 13 years of schooling spanning over 2,600 days, we applaud our Year 12s and say farewell and good luck.

Our Year 11 students now take up the mantle of senior leadership at St Patrick’s College. Part of this responsibility includes being strong role models for all other students at the College. At assembly this week we reminded our Year 11 students of the importance of ensuring uniform is worn correctly at all times, and well as demonstrating the highest level of commitment to their studies. We look forward to working with our 2016 Year 12 cohort as they embark on their leadership journey, and we wait with joy as they place their mark on this great College.
