COVID-19 & Remote Learning 4.0

A lot has happened since the last edition of the Crest two weeks ago! I wish to congratulate the boys, families and staff for the way you entered into Remote Learning. With relative ease, staff were able to plan, organise and deliver lessons online, whilst the boys maturely logged on and focused on the job at hand.

There certainly was a collective sigh of relief when we received the news that we would be back at school on Monday, June 7. Students certainly have work to complete, assessments to hand in and exams to prepare for, see details below.

Boys are reminded that masks must be worn at school. A large number of boys have been arriving at school without a mask or just not wearing their musk consistently. We are all aware of how unpleasant it is wearing a mask, just as we are all aware as the reasons as to why we have been asked to wear them. So, please remind your son to mask up!

Year 7 Retreats

Due to COVID restrictions the Year 7 Retreats have been postponed, tentatively, until the first week of Term 4. More details to come closer to the date.

Exams

Junior School exams will commence on Tuesday, June 15, which is the last week of term. Year 7’s will sit an English and Maths exam, while Year 8’s will complete English, Science, Humanities and Maths. Staff have spent this week preparing the boys for their exams. If boys are absent on the day, there is no “catch up” session later in the week and boys cannot sit the exam earlier than the scheduled time.
