Junior School Report

March 5, 2020

by Acting Director of the Junior School, Mr Gerard Willis

It is hard to believe that we are already past the halfway mark of the first term. It has been pleasing to see so many of our Junior School students take advantage of the co-curricula activities that are on offer. We have boys involved in a variety of activities including debating, theatre sports, cricket, swimming, junior house soccer, baseball and lawn bowls. Involvement in these activities is a great way to make connections, broaden one’s social network and feel connected to the College community. I would encourage all students to participate in at least one co-curricula activity each term.

Athletics Carnival

The boys are gearing up for our forthcoming Athletics carnival that will be held on the grounds of the College on Wednesday, March 18. House meetings and sign ups have already taken place and practice sessions are being conducted in PE classes. Participation and involvement are key components of our carnival and we look forward to seeing the boys giving their all for their house. This is an opportunity for a timely reminder about ensuring that all items of your son’s uniform, both regular and PE, are clearly labelled. This will help return any lost property in a timely fashion.

Father and Son Evening

Another significant event in the life of the College is the Year 8 Father and Son evening to be held on Tuesday March 17. Participants are asked to arrive at 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start. Feedback from these evenings is always positive as it provides a wonderful opportunity for fathers and sons to spend some quality time together.
