Kerry Francis Mullane (SPC 1965)

October 7, 2022

Our deepest sympathy goes to the family of Old Collegian Kerry Francis Mullane (SPC 1965) who passed away suddenly at home on 23 September 2022.
Kerry was the loving husband of Clare and proud father of Rebecca, Justin (SPC 1988-93), Joey, Laura, Shaun (SPC 1994-99), Tim (SPC 1998-2003) and Emily and an adored pa to 21 grandchildren.

Kerry was also the loved brother of Brian (SPC 1955, PY1958), Eddie (SPC 1957-60, PY1961) (dec), Barry, Chris and Gerard.

In family tributes, Kerry is remembered as a “passionate farmer, a friend to all, a quick-witted community man and an avid football fan” and a “beautiful soul taken from us too soon”.

Kerry has also been remembered for his contribution to his local community, including the Waubra Football Club as a life member, dedicated timekeeper and respected and valued club stalwart. He was an active member of the club, and devoted years as a past player, parent, committee member and volunteer.

The Waubra Bowls Club also paid tribute to their “much loved club member and all-round great bloke” and stated “Mully will be remembered affectionately for his cheeky grin, easygoing nature, great sense of humour and willingness to lend a hand”.
Kerry was also recognised for his work as a past executive of the Central Highlands Football League.

Kerry was a day student at SPC for one year only in Form 3 in 1965 and followed in his father Stan’s footsteps as a student in the early 1930s. Kerry enjoyed playing football and was referred to as a talented rover in the Under 14 competition.

Kerry was a member of the Premiers Shed Competition team for SPC in 1965.

Kerry was also a member of the U14 football program in 1965.

Kerry’s roving talent was highlighted in the 1965 College Annual.
