May 25, 2021 – College update on COVID-19

May 25, 2021

Dear Parents, Carers and Guardians of St Patrick’s College,

Sadly, as you may be aware, the Victorian Government has today announced a series of restrictions on people in the Greater Melbourne area, brought about by a COVID outbreak in the city’s northern suburbs.

While Melbourne residents are still permitted to visit regional Victoria, they carry their restrictions with them.

This means that all staff, students (aged 12 and over) and visitors to the College who are from Melbourne will be required to wear face masks while indoors (teachers are exempt from wearing them while teaching however). It is also timely to remind all in our community of the need to wear masks when travelling on public transport.

Melbourne residents are also restricted from attending public gatherings of more than 30 people in regional Victoria.

If a Melbourne resident visits a home in regional Victoria, that home can only have a maximum of five other visitors on that day.

These restrictions are likely to remain in place until Friday, June 4.

We thank all in our community for their co-operation and understanding in these challenging times.

Mr Steven O’Connor

Principal
