Keeping Safe: Information for- Parents

As part of St Patrick’s College mission to create a safe and secure learning environment for our students, it is crucial that our broader community of parents are well-informed with the latest information and research available, so we can work as partners to keep our students safe.- This week’s focus is to highlight the resources from within the Keeping Safe curriculum.

The Keeping Safe curriculum has been built using a vast array of resources, such as official departments, bodies and organisations.- These resources cover many concepts such as reporting abuse, abuse-related trauma, bullying, cyber-safety, and wellbeing and positive psychology.

Positive Psychology and wellbeing resources within the curriculum include a range of models that are prominent in the teaching and delivery of positive education in schools and universities across the country.- Websites that may of be interest to parents for extra reading are:

  • Supporting young people when they are feeling depressed, stressed or anxious. It aims to empower young people aged 12-25, their friends and those who care for them to respond to depression and anxiety.
