Music Camp

From February 26 -“ 28, the boys in our Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Stage Band and Chamber Choir participated in our annual music camp at Lake Dewar. The camp provided an opportunity for the boys to commence learning new pieces of music that will be played throughout the year and also provided the boys the chance to start building teamwork skills. The weekend featured intensive rehearsals in a variety of formats including sectionals with instrumental tutors, full band rehearsals and our first Marching Band rehearsal of the year. It was fantastic to see the senior boys who had played in our Marching Band last year assisting new members of the band. The new students picked the Marching Band skills up quickly and have set a very good foundation to build towards playing at the ANZAC Day Parade.

The weekend concluded with a Sunday afternoon concert where the boys were able to demonstrate the progress they had made over the course of the weekend. I would like to thank all of the music staff who attended the camp and for their efforts in making it a successful weekend.
