Rowing Report – October 8, 2015

October 7, 2015

Rowing season has officially begun. The Boatshed now boasts a specific off water training system (quad Swingulator) and some new ergo machines. We have acquired some new small boats (two pairs and a single scull) to ensure everyone has the opportunity to row and to add to training options. We have purchased some exercise bikes and built a new extendable boat rack. All of this pales in comparison to the influx of over 50 year 8 prospective rowers and the enthusiasm and energy promoted by the senior and intermediate crews. The largest number of preseason rowers we have seen in years arrived to begin strength and conditioning training, just before the holidays, and are eager to get on water this term. The energy at the boatshed is infectious and with the added coaching staff we are able to offer more consistent instruction and support. Please take a look at the St Pats Rowing Facebook page for updated training schedules, key events and photos and video of crews.

Pasta Night:

We have a very important information evening coming up on October 15th 7:00pm in the pavilion. It is our official opening with an introduction to new parents and a pasta night and information evening. After which we move onto an Annual General Meeting. Where people are invited to participate in the planning of key events or just be better informed.
