Royal South Street Piano Success!

August 22, 2018

St Patrick’s College Music Department has had a wonderful start to our Royal South Street competition campaign.

Pierce Renga entered section 746 -“ Chopin Piano Solo for students 16 years and under. The section requires the competitors to perform a work or movement by the composer Frédéric Chopin. Pierce selected the work -‘Fantasy Impromptu’ that he performed beautifully under very demanding competition conditions. It is with great pleasure that I can announce that Pierce gained 3rd place.

Bradley Singe competed in section 742 -“ Popular Piano Solo for students 16 years and under. Students are required to perform a work of their own choice with a time limit of six minutes. Bradley performed -‘Compline d’un autre ete: l’apres – midi – (Lullaby from another Summer: the afternoon)’ by Yann Tiersen at an extremely high standard. The section had many students competing and I am so proud to announce that Bradley gained 3rd place.

I would like to thank Mrs. Jacinta Heley for her wonderful work with the piano students at St. Patrick’s College. Congratulations once again to Pierce, Bradley and Mrs. Heley on their wonderful success.

Regards
