SPC Goes CSI

July 16, 2015

A group of St Patrick’s College Year 11 Chemistry students recently delved into the world of forensics with a CSI-like mock murder investigation, as part of a- -‘Monash Murder Mystery Challenge’ with the Monash University School of Chemistry.

The 16 budding forensic scientists were provided with a mock murder scenario and charged with the task of cracking the murder through a variety of scientific investigations and chemistry applications.

The students, who travelled to Monash University on Wednesday (July 15), thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to utilise the University’s facilities, apply their knowledge of chemistry and help solve a murder investigation -“ albeit a mock one! We definitely have a few forensic scientists in our midst!
