SPC Old Boys Make Cricket History

History was made this week when two Old Collegians were selected to play in the Victorian one-day cricket team at the same time. Matt Short (SPC 2008-13) and Blake Thomson (SPC 2010-15) played for the Bushrangers together twice – on Tuesday against a Cricket Australia XI and on Thursday against South Australia.

In the match against South Australia Matt opened the batting, registering his highest score of 81 while Blake took to the crease for the first time, making 24 runs in quick time as the Vics fell just short in a massive run chase. Congratulations to both Matt and Blake and we will keep a close eye on their progress as the summer unfolds.
