St Pat’s Solar Panels Make a Major Difference!

June 10, 2022

As part of our Catholic Mission, St Patrick’s College shares a commitment to the care of our common home, the planet. Pope Francis calls us to work together to protect God’s creation.

In November 2020 installation was completed on 306 solar panels on the Senior School’s Wilding Wing and Boarding precinct. Last month our solar asset supplier, Verdia provided a report that showed a reduction of 104.82 tonnes of carbon emissions in a 12 month period and 97.77% of the production used on site.

St Patrick’s College Business Manager, Mr Andrew Ballesty is thrilled with the results.

“These solar panels have helped deliver on our commitment to sustainable design and efficiency. The installation of solar panels and expanded use of LED lighting, not only reduces the College’s energy costs, but more importantly contributes positively to the environment by reducing energy use and carbon emissions,” Mr Ballesty said.
