An Assembly Of Awards, Farewells And New Beginnings- Tuesday 13th September

Over the last month the students and staff have had the opportunity to vote for student leaders in both the Student Council (Yr 12) and Student Congress(Yr7-11). This year the final 24 students applied for 11 positions and were interviewed by a panel consisting of Mr Crowley, Mrs Ryan and myself. The same process was undertaken to elect the Boarding Captains by Mr Silcock. The Student Congress will be announced in Term 4, with a focus this coming Tuesday on awards for senior students, farewelling the 2016 student leaders and the formal induction of the 2017 student leaders.

Please see the Student Council 2017 students to be inducted next Tuesday 13th September.

We very much look forward to supporting and working with the new student leaders. The voice of students as to what works best for them as learners and the authenticity of listening to students’ hopes and dreams sits at the heart of the purpose of student leadership at St Patricks College. This 2016 Year 12 Student Council restructured the way they listened to the younger boys at the college. This bodes well for further development of what works for the students and we look forward to what we can learn from the next team of Yr 12 leaders in 2017. With such fantastic boys attending the College the future looks very bright indeed. May their voices continue to be loud and strong.

Take Care, God Bless
