Year 10 Students Experience Night of Homelessness

May 25, 2017

Well done to the Year 10 students who participated in last night’s Night of Homelessness, gaining a first-hand appreciation of what it is like to be homeless.

Students spent the night sleeping outside on College grounds, were constantly woken and asked to find a new location by teachers patrolling the school.

After this night many will have a better understanding of the circumstances which lead to people being homeless and have more empathy with them.

It is hoped the boys have gained a greater understanding of, and sympathy for the hardships faced by many homeless people in Australia each and every night.

Developing awareness around an issue such as homelessness is often the first step in becoming a strong advocate for change.
