We recently reconnected with Geoff Jones CSC OAM (SPC 1975-77) who we discovered was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in the 2025 Australia Day Honours for his service to business and to the entertainment industry. Geoff was a busy student at SPC, making the most of the many school and sporting pursuits at SPC and he continues to excel today!

Where has life taken you since leaving SPC?
I left SPC and went to Royal Military College at Duntroon and became an army officer in the Artillery. I left the army as a Lieutenant Colonel and served all over Australia and in Canada,
I joined Live Entertainment Company IMG in 1998 and ran their APAC Motorsport business, promoting events like the Bathurst 1000, Indy Car at the Gold Coast, Canberra Street Circuit and Sandown in Melbourne. I also ran IMG’s Queensland business.
I joined Foster’s Group in 2003 and ran the Queensland business for one year before becoming global sales director. In 2007, I became CEO of Ticketek for two and a half years.
I joined a sports and entertainment company called SEL in 2010 as a partner. In 2011, I was asked to return to Ticketek as CEO and created the integrated live entertainment business called TEG.
I was CEO of TEG for 14 and a half years and grew the company to become Australia’s largest live business which operated in 13 countries.
In early 2025, I stood down as CEO of TEG and took on the role as chairman. I am also chair of two other privately owned companies that operate in the live space.
Do you have family ties with SPC?
