John Houghton (SPC 1966-68, PY1971) sadly passed away on 9 September 2025, aged 72 years.

John was a day student, who completed Forms 1 through to Proficiency B in the late 60s.

After leaving school, John got a job on the Victorian Railways, where he had a successful career. John worked as a signalman for many years before he moved to a clerical job at BHP Archives where he handled the company records.

He retired from BHP and moved to Point Cook in his twilight years.

We also extend our condolences to John’s brother Norman Houghton OAM (SPC 1963-65) and John’s extended family.
