Tony Borrack.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Anthony (Tony) Borrack (SPC 1953-54, PY1957) in May, 2020.

Tony forged a successful career in the computing industry as well as active service in the community.

Tony was a boarder from Cohuna and wrote about his time at SPC and his memories in a “Where are they now” story here back in 2019.

He completed his sub-intermediate studies at SPC and won a scholastic prize in 1954. Tony also enjoyed playing school football and was a member of the Seven Stone Seven XVIII Football team, coached by Br Smith.

Tony will be long remembered for his love and service to the community. He was involved in various community roles in his adult life, including the Whitefriars Football Club, where he was a constant from the club’s beginning and served in many roles including president, chairman of selectors and part of the umpires advisory council, with a club tribute stating Tony would be sorely missed and Thursday night selection “will be missing some scrutiny” following Tony’s passing.

Tony played over 300 games of VAFA HQ Footy with Commonwealth Bank. He is survived by his wife Ann and their children and extended family.
