Where are they now – Kain Ford (2009-10)

The College reconnects with Kain Ford (SPC 2009-10), who has been busy since leaving SPC, opening up his own online marketing agency, setting up a clothing brand with a fellow Old Collegian and is signed up to play in the QAFL this season.

 

Where has life taken you since leaving SPC?

Since leaving St Patrick’s College in 2010, I moved to Adelaide where I completed my Bachelor- Degree in Management/Marketing. Not long after, I opened up my own online marketing agency and also partnered with fellow Old Boy, Brad Crouch (SPC 2006-11), on a clothing brand.

Today I still run both businesses- up in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast with my long-time girlfriend and currently live with another two fellow Old Boys, Jesse Dundon (SPC 2008-10) and Luke Terrill (SPC 2005-10) who are both successful physiotherapists. I’ve also recently signed on with Surfers Paradise Football Club in the QAFL for the season ahead.

 

What are your favourite memories of your time at St Patrick’s College?

My favourite times at St Patrick’s would definitely include playing footy in the Firsts for two years (especially winning the Herald Sun Shield)- and the many- boarding memories that I had with a- great bunch of boys.-

 

Which teacher from your time at SPC had the greatest impact on you? Why?

The teacher that had the biggest impact on my time there was without doubt, Howard Clark. He taught me so much to do with courage, discipline, respect and humility. Also a special mention to Mr (Chris) Caldow who had a big impact as well on my two years there.

 

How has your education shaped your professional life and your time at SPC shaped your personal values and your family life?

My education and time at St Patrick’s has shaped all areas of my life for the better. It taught me the importance of relationships and to always contribute to things in life much bigger than yourself.

 

If you could pass on one message to the students of today, what would it be?

Finally, the one piece of advice that I would give to current students is to not take for granted your time there. My two years at St Patrick’s were two of the best years of my life! Embrace every day with your mates and value each moment you put on the -green, white and blue.
